Woodblocks and Editioned Books
by Leon Loughridge
Editioned Books
The Editioned Books are entirely hand-printed and bound in small eitions at the DCArtPress Studio.
The print process starts with small watercolor sketches of the area. Next, the page layout for the book is designed, pairing images with copy or poetry. Then the work really begins as I translate those outdoor sketches into multi color woodblocks or serigraphs and print enough for the entire book. To print a book, after all the planning is done, takes about six months. That includes printing the type or multi-colored images and binding the books.
