Japanese Sketchbook

A sketchbook or folio created by artist Hanawa Yoshimasa in 1918 as he climbed Mt Hakusan. There are 15 pages an it measures 22 x 15.75" (55.5cm x 40cm). Painted on a very thin washi paper, the sketches capture scenes along his route. The artist notes on the cover that "This my sketching trip of 3 days and two nights. I successfully got to the summit of Mt Hakusan and safely came down.
