A demo of each color run used in creating the woodblock print. Two blocks were used over ten color runs with cutting between each run.
A state by state demonstration of printing a woodblock print with a Pressure Plate, a Stencil and Carved Block. There is only one carved block for the print. The sky and grass were printed with an uncarved block and the stencil was a piece of mat board.
The demos below give a brief description of the techniques and processes used in creating the woodblock prints. I do not look at process as a limiting structure but as a creative tool to be used and manipulated. As fun as these demos are, nothing can replace the tactile quality of handling printed paper, especially if it is a hand made paper
