SPRING IN THE FLINT HILLS

A new hand-printed book is scheduled to be released at the American Legacy Gallery in May 2010. The book contains 10 woodblocks by Leon Loughridge and poetry by H C Palmer. A prepubliction notice will be sent out in April, with reservations being accepted in mid-April. 

An opening and book release will be held at the American Legacy Gallery on Friday, May 14, 2010. Along with the book, loose prints from the book and pastels will be on display during the opening.

A Reprint of the  Original Flint Hills book is now available. There will be 86 hard bound books in the edition with the frontispiece woodblock limited to the book publication only. The format of the book will be 8" square and has a hand printed dust cover.

THE FLINT HILLS

The original hand-printed book was published in 2008 and contains 10 hand cut woodblocks by Leon Loughridge with assorted small vignette woodblocks to accompany the poetry of H C Palmer. The frontispiece is a hand made sheet of kozo paper with grass from the Flint Hills embedded in the sheet.

The book was released at the American Legacy Gallery, Kansas City, in May, 2008 and sold out during the opening. It was Selected as one of the 10 Note Worthy Poetry Books for 2008 by The Kansas City Star

Broadside

Leon and HC will be signed a limited supply of "Broadsides" before the 2009 Symphony. The digitally printed broadside has a poem with a woodblock reproduction. A few are still a available from DCArtPress
